introduction

I am just a simple gardener and collector of tropical plants.

I have a fairly large collection of plants, some of which are imported and considered rare as they are not readily available in commercial nurseries in Singapore. I also get a tad obsessed with my collections and have gone great lengths (and expense) just to obtain the rare and unobtainable.

I have a soft spot for costuses, bromeliads, hoya, nepenthes and passiflora. Included in my collection are various other types of creepers and vines, aroids, plumeria, orchids and various other members of the zingiberacae family such as musa, heliconias, alpinias, etlingeras, hedychium and globbas. I also have a deep interest for native plants.

In my spare time, I love to wander around Singapore on field trips with the sole purpose of hunting, documenting and taking photos of rare native, new or forgotten species of plants.

I like to think that gardening keeps me sane and takes my mind off my otherwise mundane day-job! With this blog, I hope to share my experiences, learn and gain tips from fellow green-fingered enthusiasts. Do drop by my facebook page of the same name.
